About The Position

The AV Technician supports daily audiovisual operations across multiple buildings, including equipment setup, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and basic repairs for meetings, events, and conference spaces. This role is entry-level friendly for candidates willing to learn and requires general computer knowledge and familiarity with video conferencing platforms. The technician will also be exposed to or learn equipment such as Crestron, Cisco, ClearOne, and similar systems, and may need to interpret technical drawings and understand low-voltage cabling systems.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of audiovisual systems or strong interest in AV technology.
  • General computer knowledge and familiarity with video conferencing platforms.
  • Ability to read and follow technical drawings (or willingness to learn).
  • Understanding of or interest in low-voltage cabling systems.
  • Awareness of safe construction practices and secure mounting methods for AV equipment.
  • Willingness to learn new systems quickly.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively.
  • Ability to lift and transport equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools.
  • Ability to safely use ladders up to 10 feet in height.
  • Ability to accurately interpret color and audio tone during troubleshooting and installation tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience is a plus.
  • Exposure to or willingness to learn equipment such as Crestron, Cisco, ClearOne, and similar systems.
  • Exposure to or willingness to learn low-voltage cabling systems, including: Speaker wiring, Computer networking, Sensor/relay integration.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily AV meetings and events across assigned facilities.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with built-in and portable AV equipment.
  • Set up portable sound systems, projectors, monitors, and related equipment.
  • Prepare conference rooms, including arranging tables and chairs.
  • Follow directions, learn new systems quickly, and maintain a professional, motivated work style.
  • Work independently or collaboratively with team members.
  • Lift and transport equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Use basic hand tools for installation and support of low-voltage devices.
  • Safely use ladders up to 10 feet in height.
  • Accurately interpret color and audio tone during troubleshooting and installation tasks.
  • Responsibilities may evolve or be assigned as needed to support facility operations.
