About The Position

Tucker Ellis LLP is seeking an AV Technician to join our Cleveland office. This onsite role supports the firm’s audio-visual, conferencing, and collaboration technologies across all conference rooms and shared spaces. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, excellent customer service, and hands-on experience with AV hardware, videoconferencing platforms, and basic IT support. This position is critical to ensuring seamless meetings and events for attorneys, staff, and clients.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in audio-visual support, IT support, or related technical troubleshooting role.
  • Extensive knowledge of AV hardware, software, web conferencing technologies, and automated room controls (Zoom, Teams, Q-sys, Mersive, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Working knowledge of macOS, iOS, and Android operating systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while supporting a diverse internal customer base.
  • Excellent communication skills, patience, and professionalism when assisting end users.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to document issues and resolutions accurately.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment such as monitors, computers, chairs, tables, and lecterns.
  • Successful completion of criminal background check required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and guests using conference room technology.
  • Support all conferencing platforms, including Zoom and Microsoft Teams, for meetings, webinars, hybrid events, and large group sessions.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with AV hardware including cameras, microphones, speakers, displays, telephones, room control systems, and conferencing devices.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity, audio, video, and performance issues across multiple devices and operating systems (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android).
  • Maintain, update, and patch all conference room computing devices, including room PCs, iPads, and meeting peripherals.
  • Ensure all Meeting Owl and similar smart conferencing devices receive necessary firmware updates.
  • Set up, configure, and break down multi-purpose rooms for meetings, trainings, and firm events.
  • Monitor conference room calendars and proactively communicate with meeting organizers to ensure coverage and a positive meeting experience.
  • Maintain inventory of all conference room equipment, including wireless peripherals, microphones, clickers, and other AV gear.
  • Proactively replace batteries, identify failing hardware, and ensure rooms remain ready for use each day.
  • Track and document recurring technical issues for weekly review and resolution planning.
  • Provide occasional after-hours support for scheduled meetings or firm events.
  • Provide Level 1 IT helpdesk support (e.g., rebooting systems, peripheral resets, basic troubleshooting).
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
