About The Position
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented AV Technician (Level 1–2) to support commercial audiovisual installations. This entry to mid-level role is ideal for individuals looking to build hands-on experience in AV systems, structured cabling, and field installation work. The technician will work under the direction of senior technicians and project leadership to assist in delivering high-quality installations across a variety of commercial environments.
Requirements
- 0–3+ years of experience in AV installation, low-voltage, or related field
- Basic knowledge of audiovisual systems and components
- Ability to read and interpret drawings is a plus
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to travel to job sites as needed
Responsibilities
- Assist with installation, termination, and basic testing of AV systems
- Pull, route, and terminate low-voltage and structured cabling
- Mount displays, projectors, speakers, and AV hardware
- Follow installation drawings, schematics, and standards
- Support the deployment of commercial AV environments, including conference rooms and collaboration spaces, training rooms and classrooms, and video conferencing and digital signage systems
- Work with equipment such as displays, projectors, and projection screens, speakers, microphones, and amplifiers, control systems and AV connectivity, and structured cabling systems
- Assist with basic troubleshooting of AV systems
- Perform system checks and support commissioning activities
- Identify and escalate technical issues to senior team members
- Ensure installations meet quality and performance standards
- Work collaboratively with technicians and project teams on job sites
- Follow direction from Lead Technicians and Project Managers
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Comply with all job site safety requirements
- Complete timesheets and basic job documentation accurately
- Assist with material tracking and inventory management
- Support punch list completion and project closeout tasks
