About The Position

NCC is seeking an Audio Visual Systems Programmer to join our team supporting the US Patent and Trade Office (USPTO) in Alexandria, VA. In this role, you will take a lead position in designing, programming, and implementing cutting-edge AV control systems on campus.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance (must be able to pass a criminal background and credit check).
  • Minimum of 4–6 years of dedicated, hands-on experience programming enterprise-tier AV control systems within a corporate campus or federal environment.
  • Deep programming mastery within the Crestron ecosystem (SIMPL Windows, SIMPL+, Crestron Studio, C#) or Extron ecosystem (Global Configurator Professional, Python-based ControlScript).
  • Strong configuration knowledge of Biamp Tesira and Q-SYS Designer, specifically handling control string routing and external API blocks.
  • Experience integrating custom control loops with enterprise codecs and UCaaS appliances (Cisco Webex Room Kits, Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms).
  • Solid understanding of LAN/WAN structures, TCP/IP, UDP, RS-232/422 serial communications, and AV-over-IP topology (Crestron NVX, Extron NAV).

  • Experience with streaming media.
  • Experience supporting Windows, streaming appliances, storage servers, video production server environment, asset management, remote control of AV devices.
  • Certification in one of the following: Crestron Programmer Level I & II, Crestron Smart Graphics Certified, Crestron Fusion Certified, Extron Certified Control Professional, Harman–HCCA & HCCP/ (AMX Programmer I & II).

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the control system programming and UX for the AV systems on site.
  • Evaluate, modernize, and support the AV systems of auditoriums, meeting rooms and conference spaces.
  • Assist the Network Engineer with supporting the AV network.
  • Help manage and maintain multi-VLAN IP schema for AV network.
  • Develop programming standards for Crestron control systems.
  • Develop reusable code modules and maintain a code library for control system code.
  • Develop logical, intuitive control UX for AV systems.
  • Configure network settings of AV devices, cisco switches, servers, and workstations.
