About The Position

The AV Support Specialist sets up and operates audio-visual equipment for events and meetings, including work during the day, after hours, and on weekends. The role supports projectors, digital displays, and smartboards in schools and programs throughout the state, provides on-site support during events, and troubleshoots technical issues as they arise. The position also involves maintaining and updating equipment, testing systems before events, managing inventory and ordering supplies, training staff and clients, and coordinating with event coordinators and other stakeholders to plan AV setups. The specialist documents equipment configurations and troubleshooting steps for future reference.

Requirements

Associate degree in Audio/Visual Production, Broadcast Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Certification in AV technology or equivalent experience.
Proficiency with a variety of AV software and hardware systems.
Experience with live streaming and video conferencing platforms.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Familiarity with the latest trends and advancements in AV technology.
Proven experience as an AV Specialist or in a similar role.
In-depth knowledge of AV equipment and software.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lift heavy equipment and climb ladders.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate audio-visual equipment for events and meetings.
Support projectors, digital displays, and smartboards in schools and programs throughout the state.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on the spot.
Perform routine maintenance and updates on AV equipment.
Coordinate with clients to understand their AV needs and requirements.
Test equipment before events to ensure it functions properly.
Manage AV equipment inventory and order supplies as needed.
Train staff and clients to use AV systems and equipment.
Work with event coordinators and other stakeholders to plan AV setups.
Document setups, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for future reference.
Provide on-site support during events to ensure seamless AV operations.
