About The Position

TEKsystems is looking for an AV Service Engineer to service their existing customers in the Philadelphia area. This role involves providing in-person troubleshooting of audio video systems found in executive board rooms and conference centers. The successful candidate will work from home and be dispatched to client sites to troubleshoot and resolve AV issues. The role requires professionalism and the ability to interface with enterprise customers. The position is a contract role based out of Philadelphia, PA.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7-8 or more years of experience with AV integration and/or AV field service.
  • Experience with major AV brands such as Crestron and Biamp.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Ability to research and specify replacement products.
  • Intermediate to advanced AV Networking skills.
  • Ability to crimp and solder cabling and connectors.
  • Advanced knowledge of signal flow and low voltage electrical concepts; i.e., Ohms law.
  • Customer interfacing skills.
  • Ability to conduct Preventative Maintenance testing.
  • Ability to write concise service reports and/or system site surveys.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple service projects.
  • A two-year diploma from a college of technical school, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years minimum field service experience.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Must be able to stand, kneel and/or crouch for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding.
  • Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • CTS certification highly preferred, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues with AV integration and field service.
  • Troubleshoot and understand Crestron systems.
  • Reverse engineer legacy AV systems.
  • Debug newly built systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues with Extron equipment, Biamp and QSC audio DSP products, Cisco, POLY, LOGITECH video conference systems, Luxul, NETGEAR, CISCO switches, and video wall systems (Planar, UNILUMEN, LG, Samsung, Barco).
  • Perform testing with a multimeter and troubleshoot issues.
  • Research and specify replacement products.
  • Perform intermediate to advanced AV Networking.
  • Crimp and solder cabling and connectors.
  • Understand signal flow and low voltage electrical concepts, including Ohm's law.
  • Interface with customers regularly.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to custom control systems (Crestron DM and NVX / AMX), complex audio video systems in executive board rooms and conference centers, video teleconferencing equipment and systems, Audio Visual over IP (AVoIP) networks, Audio DSP based systems, projection display devices and systems, video wall equipment and systems, and to a lesser degree, RF Systems (analog and digital).
  • Conduct Preventative Maintenance testing.
  • Perform site surveys related to service agreement quotes.
  • Write concise service reports and/or system site surveys.
  • Manage multiple service projects successfully.
  • Lead and mentor junior/intermediate level field service techs.
