About The Position

Chamberlux Automata is seeking an AV Build Technician to join their team, focusing on designing, building, and supporting high-end residential automation systems in the SF Bay Area. Requirements

  • Residential Construction Experience a MUST.
  • Versed in all typical AV device installations, including flat panel displays, projectors & screens, motorized mounts and housings, recessed and invisible speakers, panelized controls for lighting and shades, motorized shades, security cameras/NVR and all other low voltage.
  • Unquestionable communication and coordination skills, internal and client-facing, fluid with email, online calendars, and apps (Google Workspace, Asana, REVU, etc.).
  • Time management and prioritization capabilities.
  • Interpreting, referencing and marking up professional drawing packages from both external and internal development (REVU Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Visio, etc.).
  • Rack Build.
  • Control system administration and basic system admin skills to work with remote programmers (for Crestron, Josh, Savant, RTI, or others).
  • Audio and Video commissioning to industry standards and best practices.
  • Awareness of building codes as related to AV & Low Voltage Electrical.
  • Following jobsite safety protocols.
  • Documented experience in ALL mandatory skills listed.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to manage your own time and workload effectively.
  • Maintains professionalism both internally and externally.
  • Clean driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Absorbing the design intent and understanding the client’s expectations for project completion and working backwards to achieve it in a timely manner.
  • Daily communication with the project team to evaluate progress and plan accordingly.
  • Maintaining familiarity with the scope of work and project documentation to guide coordination with team members and trades.
  • Implementation of specified systems, including onsite work, cabling, installation, testing, and configuration.
  • Fielding onsite coordination requirements and documenting disputes/resolutions in project documentation.
  • Prepping materials needed for upcoming work.
  • Maintaining project documentation accuracy (e.g., Asana task updates) on a daily basis.
  • Completing the physical scope of the project, including commissioning and punch list items.
  • Juggling small service and support requests between larger project schedules.
  • Attending and contributing to regular production meetings.
