Porter and Chester Institute is seeking an experienced automotive technician to teach hands-on automotive repair and diagnostic skills in classroom and lab settings. The instructor uses real vehicles and shop equipment to help students understand how the automotive industry operates, demonstrate safe and effective repair practices, and develop students’ technical and professional skills. Students may range from entry-level to advanced learners, and the instructor helps prepare them for ASE certifications and applicable state licensing. No prior teaching experience or education degree is required. The institute provides curriculum, formal and on-the-job instructor training, paid training, ongoing professional development, and support from an experienced education team. The role offers an opportunity to continue working in the automotive field without the flat-rate pressure, weekend shop hours, and physical strain of daily shop work. A $1,500 sign-on bonus is advertised.
