About The Position

The purpose of an Automotive Technology Instructor is to prepare students for successful careers in the automotive industry by providing high-quality technical instruction, hands-on training, and professional guidance.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or higher in Automotive Technology or related field AND 3 years related work experience AND appropriate current certifications/licenses required for the course.
  • A minimum of 5 years work experience in the field AND appropriate current certifications/licenses required for the course.

Nice To Haves

  • ASE Advanced Level Specialist certification

Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom and laboratory instruction in automotive systems such as: Engine repair and performance, Braking systems, Steering and suspension, Electrical and electronic systems, HVAC systems, Automatic and manual transmissions.
  • Ensure students gain practical, real-world experience through: Shop-based lab activities, Diagnostic procedures, Use of industry standard tools and equipment, Safety practices and OSHA compliance.
  • Prepare students for employment by: Teaching professionalism, work ethic, and teamwork, Emphasizing customer service skills, Preparing students for ASE certification exams, Assisting with internships, co-ops, and job placement opportunities.
