About The Position

The Automotive Technician performs basic vehicle diagnostics and routine vehicle repair and maintenance in accordance with company standards and manufacturer specifications. The role is expected to provide exceptional service through clear communication about vehicle issues and proposed solutions, while meeting guest expectations for service timing and quality. Compensation is flat-rate and performance-based, with technicians earning $25.00–$40.00 per hour based on experience. Pay is based on eligible tasks completed and teammate productivity. The position may be full-time or part-time, depending on business needs, and is hourly.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Automotive training in basic car maintenance and repair, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Current valid driver’s license.
Satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).

Nice To Haves

ASE certification.
State Inspection license, where applicable.

Responsibilities

Perform basic vehicle diagnostics to identify required repairs.
Complete the Courtesy Inspection process on every guest vehicle, documenting and communicating additional needed services and repairs.
Audit courtesy inspections performed by General Service Technicians.
Assist with inventory management, including pulling tires and parts, unloading deliveries, and stocking inventory.
Assist with general store duties and maintain the store’s cleanliness and guest-ready condition in accordance with company standards.
Perform services in accordance with company safety standards, including wheel-torque, oil-safety, and compliance procedures.
Test-drive vehicles according to the company Road Test policy and designated routes while following local traffic and safety laws.
Follow company policies and procedures, governmental standards, environmental codes, and ANSI/OSHA standards.
Consistently use required safety standards established through training, policies, and procedures.
Maintain technical knowledge and capabilities by completing required company training courses and modules on time.
Operate, use, and maintain equipment safely and according to company and manufacturer guidelines, including lifts, welders, and brake lathes.
Perform other duties as assigned and required.
