About The Position

The Automotive Technician performs vehicle repair and maintenance as assigned, following dealership and factory standards. The role builds customer loyalty by earning trust and helping ensure vehicle safety and reliability. The technician works with the Parts Department and Service Advisors, diagnoses and repairs vehicle problems when authorized by the customer, and documents work on repair orders. Performance is measured by meeting targeted production and Customer Satisfaction Index goals. The position offers factory training and OEM certification support, with potential career paths including Master-Certified Technician, Service Advisor, and Service Management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience as an automotive technician.
• Automotive technical training, depending on store needs.
• Attention to detail.
• Organization and follow-up skills.
• Valid in-state driver’s license and an acceptable, safe driving record that can be maintained.
• Passion for cars and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle repair and maintenance work on repair orders efficiently and accurately in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Communicate regularly with the Parts Department and Service Advisors to manage production and customer communication.
• Diagnose vehicle malfunctions and perform repairs when authorized by the customer.
• Conduct multi-point inspections and make recommendations to support vehicle safety and reliability.
• Document work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
• Maintain an inventory of normal technician tools not inventoried by the Service department as special tools.
• Keep current with factory technical bulletins and participate in factory-sponsored training as appropriate.
• Provide an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty.
• Meet targeted production and Customer Satisfaction Index goals.
