About The Position

The Automotive Technician performs vehicle repair and maintenance in accordance with dealer and factory standards. The role builds customer loyalty by developing trust and confidence in AutoNation as a provider of vehicle safety and reliability. The technician uses factory training and tools, follows repair orders, and contributes to an exceptional customer experience. Compensation is $27.00 to $41.00 per flat-rate hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience as an automotive technician.
• Automotive technical training, varying based on store needs.
• Valid in-state driver’s license and an acceptable, safe driving record that is maintained.
• Attention to detail.
• Organization and follow-up skills.
• Passion for cars and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle repair and maintenance work outlined on repair orders efficiently and accurately, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Communicate regularly with the Parts Department and Service Advisors to manage production and customer communication.
• Diagnose vehicle malfunctions and perform repairs when authorized by the customer.
• Conduct multi-point inspections and make recommendations to support customer vehicle safety and reliability.
• Document work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
• Maintain an inventory of normal technician tools not inventoried by the Service department as special tools.
• Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins and participate in factory-sponsored training classes as appropriate.
• Provide an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty.
• Achieve targeted production and Customer Satisfaction Index results.
