About The Position

The Automotive Technician performs vehicle repair and maintenance in accordance with dealership and factory standards. The role builds customer loyalty by developing trust and ensuring confidence in AutoNation’s care for vehicle safety and reliability. The position works with customers, Service Advisors, other Technicians, Parts Associates, Sales Associates, and Managers. Success is measured by achieving targeted production and Customer Satisfaction Index goals. Career growth opportunities may include Master-Certified Technician, Service Advisor, and Service Management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience as an automotive technician.
• Automotive technical training, varying based on store needs.
• Attention to detail.
• Organization and follow-up skills.
• Valid in-state driver’s license and an acceptable, safe driving record that is maintained.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle repair and maintenance work outlined on repair orders efficiently and accurately, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Communicate regularly with the Parts Department and Service Advisors to manage production and customer communication.
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs when authorized by the customer.
• Conduct multi-point inspections and make appropriate recommendations to support vehicle safety and reliability.
• Document work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
• Maintain an inventory of normal Technician tools that are not inventoried by the Service department as special tools.
• Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins and participate in factory-sponsored training as appropriate.
• Provide an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty.
