About The Position

The Detroit Garage is hiring an experienced Automotive Technician to perform vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs at its Walled Lake, Michigan location. The company operates ten locations throughout Metro Detroit and emphasizes quality work and exceptional customer service. Its clean, well-maintained shops are equipped to support technicians in their work. The position offers compensation of $50,000–$95,500+ per year, with a guaranteed compensation plan and weekly pay. The posting also advertises earnings of up to $85,500+ and a signing bonus of up to $5,000 based on ASE certifications and mechanical experience. The schedule is a 10-hour shift, five days per week, with no weekends.

Requirements

Valid State of Michigan Mechanic Certification.
Two to three or more years of automotive maintenance and repair experience.
Valid driver's license.
Commitment to quality workmanship, dependable service, and an exceptional customer experience.
Must reliably commute or relocate before starting work.

ASE certifications are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform thorough diagnostics and inspections to identify vehicle concerns.
Complete automotive maintenance and repairs, including brakes, steering and suspension, alignments, tire installation and repair, engine repair, air conditioning, and fluid exchanges.
Deliver accurate, safe, high-quality repairs and aim to complete the job correctly the first time.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
