Automotive Technician / Mechanic (Guaranteed Hours + No Weekends)
About The Position
Porsche Norwell, part of Village Automotive Group, is seeking an experienced Automotive / Service Technician to join its shop. The group operates award-winning dealerships across Greater Boston and Colorado and represents numerous automotive brands. It has served the community for over 60 years and emphasizes a family-oriented workplace and employee satisfaction. This full-time position pays $80,000–$120,000 and includes guaranteed hours. The technician diagnoses and repairs vehicles, performs scheduled maintenance in line with dealer and manufacturer recommendations, communicates repair needs and progress to service leadership, and maintains current automotive knowledge through training. The role requires following applicable safety practices and reporting incidents to management. The shop does not require weekend work.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience as an automotive technician in a dealership or shop environment.
- At least 21 years old.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Ability to bend, move, lift, and physically perform the duties of the position.
- Must have own tools.
- Team-oriented.
Nice To Haves
- ASE or OEM certification is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair vehicles as requested.
- Perform routine scheduled maintenance in a timely manner according to dealer and manufacturer recommendations.
- Regularly communicate with the designated Service Manager or Advisor about work performed, necessary changes, parts needed, and other repair or maintenance concerns.
- Maintain automotive maintenance knowledge and skills by attending workshops, seminars, or other classes.
- Follow safety requirements and local and federal standards when using tools and equipment.
- Follow automotive service best practices and promptly report accidents or incidents to management.
