About The Position

Christian Brothers Automotive is hiring an Automotive Technician / Mechanic for a locally owned and operated franchise location in Amarillo, Texas. The role is for an energetic, upbeat technician with a positive attitude, a passion for doing what is right for guests, and the ability to find solutions to challenging problems. Technicians diagnose and repair vehicles, build experience across domestic and foreign vehicles, and contribute to a safe, organized, team-oriented shop. The listed compensation is $40–$50 per hour, with up to $50 per hour available for the most skilled technicians. The location offers a modern facility with manufacturer-level diagnostic equipment and factory scan tools, a consistent workload, training, live technician support, and access to a private Technician Assistance Center. The position is at a Christian Brothers Automotive location independently owned and operated by a local franchisee; the local franchisee is the employer and makes all employment decisions.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience as an automotive technician or mechanic.
Ability to diagnose and repair all makes and models of vehicles.
Positive attitude and desire to serve guests.
Ability and aptitude to learn additional skills and processes.
Professional appearance and strong communication skills.
Desire for long-term career development.
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
Ability to work on vehicles lifted above the technician's head and in tight spaces.
Dexterity to use hand tools efficiently.
Ability to walk or stand for most of the workday.
Ability to drive manual-transmission vehicles.
Ability to navigate a computer efficiently.

Nice To Haves

ASE certifications are preferred, or a plan to achieve them.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair vehicles using automotive knowledge and skills.
Build experience working on a wide range of domestic and foreign vehicles.
Complete full, accurate, and honest courtesy vehicle inspections.
Work with the team to troubleshoot guest concerns quickly and effectively.
Follow and promote safety, cleanliness, and organization standards.
Communicate concerns effectively and work closely with the service department.
Collaborate with other technicians to solve problems, meet deadlines, and deliver distinguished results.
