About The Position
This role is for an Automotive Technician who values steady work, consistent hours, and a shop that’s set up for long-term success. The technician will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing customer vehicles to manufacturer specifications, bringing quality workmanship and a strong work ethic to every job. Tonkin Hillsboro Ford is actively growing its Service Team to keep up with increasing demand and has plenty of work, strong shop flow, and multiple openings for Automotive Technicians/Mechanics. The dealership is investing heavily in its Service Department to build a workplace where technicians can stay busy, grow their skills, and feel valued every day. The work involves repairing and diagnosing vehicles to Ford standards using proper procedures, tools, and support, in an environment where experience, work ethic, and technical skill are recognized and appreciated.
Requirements
- 2+ years of prior automotive experience
- Personal Tools
- Driver’s License
- Must be 18 years or older with a clean driving record, valid driver's license, ability to pass a criminal background check, and a drug screen.
Nice To Haves
- ASE Certifications are preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Diagnose automotive problems as they arise
- Conduct inspections, repair engine failure, repair mechanical and electrical systems, and replace parts
- Comply with manufacturer specifications throughout the repair/servicing process
- Mentor and help other technicians on the service team
