About The Position

The Tonkin Reconditioning Center supports all Tonkin dealerships throughout the Portland Metro, providing vehicle reconditioning and Used Vehicle Inspections (UVIs) to ensure inventory meets the highest standards before reaching sales lots. As operations grow, the center is looking to add a dependable UVI Technician to its team. This role is ideal for someone with automotive knowledge who enjoys consistency, process-driven work, and being part of a centralized operation that keeps multiple dealerships running smoothly. OEM certifications are not required for this position. As a UVI Technician, the individual will be responsible for performing detailed used vehicle inspections and light reconditioning tasks prior to vehicles being distributed to Tonkin dealerships. Accuracy, attention to detail, and efficiency are essential, as the work directly impacts vehicle quality, safety, and readiness for sale.

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast ‑paced environment
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Able to pass a criminal background check
  • Pre ‑employment drug screen

Responsibilities

  • Perform Used Vehicle Inspections (UVIs) following Tonkin standards and procedures
  • Accurately document vehicle condition, needed repairs, and recommendations
  • Conduct basic reconditioning tasks as assigned
  • Coordinate with the reconditioning and service teams to ensure timely vehicle flow
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Follow all company policies, safety guidelines, and workflow processes
