About The Position

Ron Tonkin Chevrolet has proudly served Portland drivers for decades—and our service business continues to grow. We’re looking to add a Used Car Technician/Mechanic to our busy Service Department, playing a key role in keeping our used‑vehicle customers safely and confidently on the road. This position is essential to our operation, working with a high volume of used vehicles and supporting a strong, established service team. We’re seeking a skilled technician with prior experience and a proven, reliable work history.

Requirements

• 1-3 years prior used car technician experience
• Valid Driver’s License
• Personal Tools
• Must be 18 years or older with a valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Able to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Keep the shop area neat and clean
• Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts
• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with the dealership
