Automotive Service Technician
About The Position
Doug Smith KIA in Lindon, Utah is seeking motivated service technicians to support its rapidly growing workflow. The Service Department describes its team as fun and exciting to work with and maintains a drug-free work environment. The position offers competitive flat-rate pay plans. A signing bonus is available for well-qualified applicants. Technicians document work, inspect and diagnose vehicles using diagnostic tools and special service equipment, and perform maintenance and repairs across automotive systems. They communicate with Service Advisors about additional service needs and estimated repair time, and complete warranty repairs to manufacturer specifications.
Requirements
- Motivation, a strong work ethic, and attention to detail.
- Experience diagnosing and repairing vehicles.
- Good driving record.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Nice To Haves
- Safety and Emissions certifications are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Document all work performed clearly and accurately.
- Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle systems, including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning.
- Communicate with the Service Advisor so customers are informed when additional service is needed.
- Provide an estimate of the time needed for additional repairs.
- Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain a clean and efficient work area.
