Automotive Service Technician
About The Position
Martin Automotive Group is hiring an Automotive Service Technician to join its team at the Subaru of Ontario dealership. The technician performs vehicle inspections, diagnoses and repairs automotive systems, and communicates with Service Advisors about additional service needs. The posting offers a sign-on bonus of up to $3,000, dependent on certifications and experience, and a flat rate of $34.00 to $40.00 plus productivity incentives, depending on certifications. Eligible technicians may qualify for the President’s Club by clocking at least 1,900 hours and flagging at least 2,000 hours within a calendar year. Qualifying technicians are invited to the Martin Group’s annual Awards Banquet, where they receive a recognition plaque and a check based on their years with the organization.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience as an automotive technician.
- Knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance.
- Ability to learn quickly.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good customer service skills.
- Ability to work as a team player.
- Computer literacy.
- Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
- Valid driver’s license.
Nice To Haves
- Manufacturer certifications preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform work specified on repair orders efficiently and in accordance with dealership policies.
- Test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment, and test drive vehicles.
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems.
- Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so customers can be informed when additional service is needed.
- Complete online multi-point inspection reports.
- Perform warranty repairs to manufacturer specifications.
