About The Position

We are seeking experienced Automotive Service Technicians to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing a variety of automotive systems. You will work closely with supervisors and customers to ensure vehicles are running optimally and safely. This position requires a strong understanding of automotive mechanics, excellent diagnostic skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Completion of secondary school is required.
  • Minimum of 72 months (6 years of experience) AND 9,360 hours of work experience.
  • Meet the minimum requirements to obtain a Journey person Certificate as Automotive service technician upon arrival in Canada.
  • Must be eligible to apply for the Trades Competency Verification (TCV).
  • A valid driver’s license is required. (Class 5)
  • Experience in diagnose and repair of passenger cars, SUV’s and light trucks is required.
  • Experience with scan tools, hand tools, and automotive repair procedures is required.
  • English is required.

  • Challenge the trade theory exam once in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Review work orders and discuss work with supervisor.
  • Inspect motor in operation, road test motor vehicle, and test automotive systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to diagnose and isolate faults.
  • Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems including fuel system, brakes, steering and suspension, engine and drive train, emission control and exhaust, cooling and climate control, and electrical and electronic systems using hand tools and other specialized automotive repair equipment.
  • Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's performance specifications.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance service, such as oil changes, lubrications and tune ups, mount and balance tires, wheel alignments.
  • Advise customers on work performed, general vehicle condition and future repair requirements.
  • Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions.
  • Diagnose faults and malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit.
  • Test and adjust repairs to specifications.
  • Complete reports to record problems and work performed.
  • Coach and instruct apprentices.
  • Provide customer service.
