Automotive Service Technicians — Heavy-Line Mechanic & Lube Technicians
About The Position
Briggs Auto Group is growing, and we are adding three technicians to our service team: 1 Experienced Heavy-Line Mechanic and 2 Entry-Level Lube Technicians. Whether you are an experienced technician looking for stronger earning potential or someone ready to start a career in the automotive industry, Briggs offers an opportunity to earn, develop your skills, and advance. We are seeking an experienced automotive technician who can confidently diagnose and complete major mechanical repairs. This position is designed for a productive technician who takes pride in quality work and wants to be compensated accordingly. We are also looking for entry-level lube technicians to start making money now while building a long-term career. Our Lube Technician position is an excellent entry point into the automotive industry. You will receive hands-on experience, training, and the opportunity to develop into a more advanced technician role. This is not just an oil-change job. It is an opportunity to learn the business, build technical skills, complete additional training, and create a career path within Briggs Auto Group.
Requirements
- Previous professional automotive repair experience
- Experience completing heavy-line or major mechanical repairs
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to flag hours consistently while maintaining quality
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Mechanical aptitude and interest in the automotive industry
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to work in a fast-paced service environment
- Willingness to learn, train, and accept coaching
- Personal tools appropriate for the position
Nice To Haves
- ASE or manufacturer certifications are preferred but not required
- Positive attitude, accountability, and strong work ethic
- Previous automotive experience is helpful but not required
Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical and drivability concerns accurately
- Perform engine, transmission, drivetrain, suspension, steering, brake, and electrical repairs
- Complete major component removal, repair, and replacement
- Use diagnostic equipment and manufacturer repair information
- Perform thorough inspections and identify needed repairs
- Complete repairs correctly and efficiently
- Document all findings, recommendations, and completed work
- Communicate effectively with service advisors and management
- Maintain an organized, professional, and safe work area
- Follow dealership and manufacturer repair procedures
- Perform oil and filter changes
- Rotate and balance tires
- Check and adjust fluid levels
- Inspect tires, brakes, batteries, belts, hoses, and other maintenance items
- Complete multipoint vehicle inspections
- Replace filters, wiper blades, bulbs, and other maintenance components
- Properly document completed services and recommended repairs
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all dealership safety and service procedures
- Work with experienced technicians and managers to expand technical skills
