About The Position
The Service Valet/Porter is the initial point of contact for customers arriving at the dealership for service. The role involves greeting customers, checking them in for appointments, assisting the Service Advisor, and moving customers’ vehicles from the service drive to the shop. The attendant follows dealership procedures for vehicle handling, key safeguarding, and vehicle delivery while helping maintain an organized service drive and positive customer experiences. The role also includes supporting dealership personnel and requires working outdoors and standing for extended periods.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have a valid driver’s license.
- Pass pre-employment background and drug screening.
- Be able to work outdoors and remain on your feet for extended periods.
Nice To Haves
- Ability to operate a manual-transmission vehicle is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and courteously and obtain vehicle information at the customer’s vehicle when possible.
- Assist the Service Advisor in helping customers while maintaining organization in the service drive.
- Move customers’ vehicles safely and securely after greeting them, following management’s procedures.
- Retain keys according to departmental safeguard procedures.
- Promote effective working relationships with dealership associates and departments.
- Follow dealership procedures for active vehicle delivery to encourage return visits and strong Customer Satisfaction Index results.
- Assist fellow dealership personnel with work needed to ensure the dealership is fully functioning.
