About The Position

We are looking for a knowledgeable, motivated Commercial Vehicle Sales Representative who understands work trucks and the businesses that depend on them. This position focuses on helping commercial customers find the right Ford vehicles and upfit solutions for their daily operations, including dump trucks, landscape trucks, service and utility trucks, pickups, chassis cabs, and cargo vans. The right candidate can talk confidently with contractors, landscapers, tradespeople, business owners, and fleet managers about how they use their vehicles. You’ll build lasting relationships by asking the right questions, recommending practical solutions, and following through from the initial conversation to delivery and future purchases.

Requirements

Strong knowledge of commercial vehicles and their uses, particularly dump trucks, landscape trucks, and other work-ready vehicles
Ability to translate a customer’s work requirements into a well-matched vehicle and equipment recommendation
Understanding of how upfits, passengers, tools, and cargo affect available payload and overall vehicle suitability
Strong communication, negotiation, organization, and customer service skills
A proactive approach to developing new accounts and building long-term business relationships
Comfort using CRM software and managing multiple quotes, orders, and customer timelines
Reliable follow-through and attention to detail from the first inquiry through delivery

Nice To Haves

Experience in commercial automotive sales, fleet sales, truck equipment, upfitting, or a closely related field preferred

Responsibilities

Sell Ford commercial vehicles and upfit solutions to business owners and fleet customers
Understand each customer’s business, typical loads, equipment, towing requirements, jobsite conditions and budget.
Recommend suitable configurations based on payload, towing capacity, wheelbase, cab configuration, drivetrain, body dimensions, and equipment needs
Demonstrate working knowledge of dump bodies, landscape bodies, service and utility bodies, flatbeds, and van shelving and storage systems
Work with upfitters and dealership staff to verify chassis and body compatibility, equipment requirements, pricing, and production timelines before making customer commitments
Prepare clear, accurate quotes detailing the vehicle, body, equipment, and options included
Generate new business through prospecting, referrals, local business outreach, and consistent follow-up
Build and maintain commercial accounts, identifying opportunities for fleet replacements, additional vehicles, and repeat purchases
Coordinate orders, upfits, paperwork, and delivery while keeping customers informed of progress and changes
Maintain accurate customer records and follow-up activity in the dealership’s CRM
Partner with service and parts teams to support maintenance needs and help customers minimize downtime
Stay current on Ford commercial products, ordering processes, and available upfit options
