As an Automotive Sales Consultant, you'll serve as a trusted advisor, helping customers find the right vehicle to fit their needs while delivering an exceptional buying experience.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Driving Record the meets insurance requirements and company policy
  • Current and active Sales License, in states where applicable

Nice To Haves

  • Previous retail, hospitality, customer service, or sales experience preferred
  • One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers in identifying and selecting the vehicle that best meets their transportation needs
  • Guide customers through the sales process from initial inquiry to vehicle delivery
  • Respond promptly to phone, internet, and showroom inquiries
  • Greet and assist customers in the dealership and on the lot
  • Build rapport with customers and establish long-term relationships that generate repeat business and referrals
  • Follow the CarShop sales process while embodying our values of integrity, teamwork, and customer care
  • Address customer questions and concerns throughout the purchasing process
  • Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and generate future sales opportunities
  • Achieve individual sales and customer service goals
  • Collaborate with team members to create a positive and welcoming dealership environment
  • Continuously develop product knowledge, sales skills, and industry expertise
  • Able to establish personal sales goals and implement a plan of action to achieve goals
  • Ability to understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that impact retail automotive sales
  • Computer proficiency
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to effectively communicate via face-to-face, phone, or by other means of communication
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to process data and organize it for management analysis
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to understand and follow work rules and procedures
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
  • Ability to interact well with others and be a positive influence on morale of department, dealership and organization
