About The Position

The Automotive Porter supports dealership service operations by welcoming customers, preparing vehicles arriving for service, and moving vehicles between the service lane and parking areas. The role also helps maintain organized work areas, supports customer-service and shuttle functions as needed, and performs clerical or other tasks assigned by service management. The position is onsite in Urbandale, Iowa, reports to the Operations Manager, and requires open availability for a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Valid driver's license in the state of residence.
Acceptable driving record.
Open availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Greet and welcome service customers in a friendly and courteous manner, and assist them promptly and professionally.
Install disposable seat covers, steering wheel covers, and floor mats in vehicles arriving for service.
Identify the service advisor with whom each customer has an appointment and notify that advisor.
Drive vehicles from the service lane to their proper places in the service parking lot.
Retrieve customer vehicles from the parking lot when bills are paid or as directed by the advisor.
Keep the parking lot and work area clean, neat, and organized.
Assist the Service Receptionist with incoming telephone calls when necessary, answering promptly and professionally.
Assist the shuttle driver when needed.
Perform clerical tasks assigned by service management.
Report situations or conditions that could jeopardize the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its employees, or its customers.
Maintain a valid local-area driver's license and promptly inform management of any change in its status.
Perform other duties as assigned.
