About The Position

Rydell Chevrolet is seeking an experienced, motivated, and results-driven Automotive Parts Manager to lead our Parts Department in Waterloo, Iowa. Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of Automotive Parts Manager experience required
  • Proven success leading a profitable and high-performing Parts Department
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team-development skills
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience with inventory management, controls, and forecasting
  • Strong understanding of retail, wholesale, and internal parts operations
  • Ability to analyze financial reports and department performance metrics
  • High level of professionalism, accountability, and integrity
  • Strong customer service focus
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Automotive parts sales experience
  • Experience with dealership management systems and inventory software
  • Knowledge of GM parts operations and manufacturer programs

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Parts Department team
  • Manage daily department operations to ensure efficiency and profitability
  • Deliver exceptional service to retail, wholesale, and internal customers
  • Oversee inventory control, purchasing, receiving, pricing, and merchandising
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels and minimize obsolescence
  • Monitor department sales, gross profit, expenses, and key performance metrics
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase parts sales and profitability
  • Partner with the Service Department to ensure timely parts availability
  • Manage wholesale parts operations and customer relationships
  • Ensure compliance with dealership policies, manufacturer requirements, and safety standards
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate department personnel
  • Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors, customers, and dealership leadership
