About The Position
Kahlo CDJR, part of Asbury Automotive Group, is seeking an Automotive Parts Counter Associate to sell parts to customers over the counter, through the shop, and by phone. The role supports retail and shop customers by identifying and supplying required parts, sharing product and pricing information, processing orders and payments, and coordinating with internal teams and outside sales representatives. The associate is expected to provide friendly, professional, and efficient service while maintaining accurate inventory and paperwork in a fast-paced environment. Requirements
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to maintain a professional image and demeanor.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong computer and phone skills, including Internet and MS Outlook.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass pre-employment background and drug screenings.
Nice To Haves
- Proficiency in CDK.
- Degree in automotive technology or military-equivalent experience.
- Bilingual ability.
Responsibilities
- Assist retail and shop customers in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
- Inform customers about companion part requirements and specials, and expose them to the full product line.
- Answer phone calls and counter inquiries, providing price quotes and other information as needed.
- Review body shop estimates to confirm ordered parts are correct and pricing aligns with the estimate when applicable.
- Pull and fill orders from stock, ensuring parts are tagged with customer names and job numbers.
- Notify the parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials requiring immediate attention.
- Notify relevant parties when special-order parts have arrived.
- Follow department policy and instructions for special ordering parts and monitoring special-order aging.
- Follow up on back-ordered parts and replenish assigned inventory daily.
- Maintain prompt, efficient, and timely paperwork flow.
- Ensure internal parts requests are billed to the service repair order.
- Verify will-call and back-order files weekly and return items to vendors or stock items that were not picked up or are no longer required.
- Receive payment from retail customers or obtain credit authorization.
- Assist outside sales representatives with their orders.
