About The Position

Billion Auto of Iowa City is hiring a full-time Automotive Lube Technician. Billion Automotive is a family-owned, growing organization with more than 25 locations across Iowa, Minnesota, and South Dakota, and emphasizes customer satisfaction. The technician performs work listed on repair orders according to dealership and factory standards, sells lubrication and related services, inspects and replenishes vehicle fluids, documents work, and helps maintain vehicles, tools, and the shop area.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license.
Good communication skills.
Efficiency.
Ability to work individually or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Perform work as outlined on repair orders efficiently and accurately, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
Sell lubrication, safety inspections, and other related services.
Maintain records on regular customers and follow up periodically with reminders by telephone, mail, or in person.
Inspect vehicle fluid levels and replenish fluids as necessary.
Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts.
Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
Report machinery defects or malfunctions to a supervisor.
Keep customers’ cars clean and immediately notify the service advisor of anything that changes a vehicle’s appearance or condition.
Keep the shop area neat and clean.
Maintain and be accountable for dealership-owned tools and manuals, returning them to the proper place and in the same condition as received.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
