About The Position

The General Service Technician performs basic routine vehicle repair and maintenance in accordance with company standards and manufacturer specifications. The role is expected to provide exceptional 5 Star service through effective communication about vehicle issues and proposed solutions, while meeting guest expectations for timeliness and quality. The position is hourly and may be full-time or part-time, depending on business needs.

Requirements

Automotive training in basic car maintenance and repair, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform basic vehicle services and repairs accurately and efficiently in accordance with Monro standards of operation.
Perform tire services, including wheel removal, balancing, patch or plug repairs, tire changing, mounting and installation, and TPMS service and repair.
Perform vehicle services, including lubrication, oil changes, basic maintenance such as replacing bulbs, wiper blades, and filters, and battery testing and installation.
Complete Monro’s Courtesy Inspection on every guest vehicle, identifying, documenting, and communicating additional needed services and repairs.
Assist with inventory management, including pulling tires and parts, unloading inventory, and stocking inventory.
Assist with general store duties and maintain the store in excellent, clean, guest-ready condition according to Monro standards.
Perform services in accordance with Monro safety standards, including Wheel Torque and oil safety and compliance procedures.
Test-drive vehicles according to Monro’s Road Test policy, using designated test-drive routes and following local traffic and safety laws.
Follow company policies and procedures and applicable governmental standards, including environmental codes and ANSI/OSHA standards.
Consistently use required safety standards set out in training, policies, and procedures.
Maintain technical knowledge and proficiency by completing required Monro University training courses and modules on time.
Operate, use, and maintain equipment safely according to Monro and equipment manufacturer guidelines, including lifts, welders, and brake lathes.
Perform other duties as assigned and required.
