About The Position
Hertrich Family of Dealerships is hiring an experienced Automotive Diesel Service Technician/Mechanic for the new Truck Shop at Frederick Ford in Seaford. The shop is a nearly 10,000-square-foot facility equipped to service light-, medium-, and heavy-duty trucks. The role offers a five-day work week with Sundays off, top flat-rate pay, steady year-round work, modern diagnostic equipment, ongoing technical training, and opportunities for career advancement. The technician will diagnose and repair diesel and automotive systems, inspect and maintain major components, document repairs, and communicate with Service Advisors. Hertrich Family of Dealerships is a family-owned business operating 24 dealerships, 15 collision centers, and 18 automotive brands, and supporting more than 90 local organizations and charities.
Requirements
- Automotive and/or diesel repair experience.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license.
- Full set of tools.
Nice To Haves
- ASE certifications are preferred, or willingness to obtain them.
- Certifications may qualify for a sign-on bonus.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel and automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, suspension, brakes, and emissions systems.
- Perform inspections, maintenance, and testing on major components.
- Complete accurate repair orders and communicate with Service Advisors.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Stay current with evolving automotive technologies.
