About The Position

The Assistant Manager is a full-time, hourly role supporting the operations of an automotive retail service and repair store. The position is a key holder and serves as manager on duty in the Store Manager’s absence or when business demands require it. The Assistant Manager helps the store meet or exceed service standards and Monro’s performance and profitability goals. The role helps ensure teammates provide exceptional 5 Star service by communicating vehicle issues and proposed solutions effectively and meeting guests’ expectations for service timing and quality. It also involves guest service and sales, coordinating appointments and store workflow, supporting technicians, maintaining inventory and store readiness, and following company and safety requirements.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least two years of retail experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to influence and motivate a team to achieve goals and objectives.
Ability to problem-solve and manage inventory, merchandising, and customer service.
Communication skills to effectively communicate with teammates and guests.
Complete all Monro-required training within the provided guidelines and timing.
Current valid driver’s license and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).

Responsibilities

Schedule guest appointments to optimize technician abilities and complete vehicle services and repairs efficiently and on time.
Help achieve sales goals by informing guests about and recommending tire and service products and promotions.
Address guest needs involving sales, service, complaints, and adjustments.
Build guest relationships to support satisfaction, loyalty, and retention.
Assist technicians in communicating repair and service needs to guests.
Maintain the store in excellent condition, meeting Monro cleanliness standards and keeping it guest-ready.
Assist with inventory management, including overseeing the pulling of tires and parts, unloading, and stocking inventory.
Provide direction and oversight to technicians and assist with services and repairs as needed.
Help organize store workflow so technician skills are used efficiently and services and repairs are completed effectively, on time, and in accordance with Monro operating standards.
Follow company policies and procedures and governmental requirements, including environmental codes and ANSI/OSHA standards.
Consistently use required safety standards set forth in training, policies, and procedures.
Perform Store Manager functions when business needs dictate.
Complete other duties as assigned and required by the direct supervisor.
