About The Position

BigBear.ai is seeking an Automation Test Engineer to be responsible for manual testing all the aspects of a software solution. This role involves performing automation testing of web-based and mobile applications using tools like Playwright, Selenium, and Cucumber. The engineer will ensure defects are tracked in JIRA, maintain test plans and scripts, and execute both manual and automation testing. They will also be responsible for regression testing, providing functional testing to ensure feature completeness, and supporting software installation and configuration.

Requirements

Bachelor’s in Computer Sciences, Engineering, Physical Sciences or related field with applicable experience is required; Applicable work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Must have at least 5 to 8 years of experience; experience in Automation Testing
Must be able to pass a DHS background check, must be a US Citizen
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusion
Knowledge of HTML/CSS/Javascript to be able to read and understand back-end web code
Some prior experience with the standard software development lifecycle (analysis/design, development, testing, implementation, support)
Clear communicator (written and verbal) – to ensure ability to write test plans and to communicate bugs to developers and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Perform automation testing of web based and mobile applications
Work in Playwright, Selenium, Cucumber, Cypress
Ensure that all defects are entered into the defect tracking system (JIRA)
Maintain test plans, scenarios, scripts, and procedures.
Execute manual functional and automation testing based on analysis and understanding of the requirements and deployment environment
Regression test to ensure release quality
Provide functional testing to ensure features are complete and function as expected
Provide support during software installation or configuration
Ability to write test plans, test cases, test procedures and test scripts from requirements and use cases (API end-point testing)
Ability to create logs to document testing performed during release sprints and observed defects
Report bugs and errors to Product Team via Jira
Supporting production support incidents in a QA capacity
Developing smoke and regression test suites
Creating and executing functional black box tests
