About The Position

Shaw Industries is searching for an Automation Controls Engineer to support and assist in the development and oversight of locally deployed process control solutions as part of broader process engineering responsibilities. The engineer will contribute to automation initiatives by identifying improvement opportunities through process awareness, data analysis, and collaboration with automation teams. Requirements

  • 1+ year experience with design, installation, and troubleshooting of: PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens)
  • 1+ year experience with design, installation, and troubleshooting of: HMI/SCADA (preferably Ignition)
  • 1+ year experience with design, installation, and troubleshooting of: PC hardware/software in industrial environments
  • Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree with 5+ years hands-on controls/automation experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Project management experience
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work some weekends, holidays and off shift hours
  • Must be able to analyze equipment faults and failures identifying the root causes
  • Must be able to implement solutions to resolve equipment faults/failures, preventing reoccurrence
  • Must have software development capabilities in various program languages (e.g., Python Java, C++)
  • Must be able to Maintain install and troubleshoot electrical systems. Ensure compliance with codes and safety standards

  • Managing electrical and automation projects
  • Setting and maintaining electrical and automation standards
  • Troubleshooting and supporting plant equipment and training other associates in proper and safe electrical and automation practices.
  • Learning the various manufacturing processes within the plant to facilitate process improvement through automation.
  • Analyzing equipment faults and failures identifying the root causes
  • Implementing solutions to resolve equipment faults/failures, preventing reoccurrence
  • Maintaining, installing, and troubleshooting electrical systems, ensuring compliance with codes and safety standards
