Job Summary Under close supervision, the Automation Engineer I supports the design, analysis, and integration of robotics, automation technologies, and related equipment. The role assists in developing preventive maintenance plans, implementing interim solutions for unsafe or damaged equipment, and documenting engineering changes, while ensuring configurations align with standard operating procedures and contributing to equipment reliability improvements using established engineering methods.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or technical school training in a related field such as Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or Automation Engineering
  • Foundational understanding of automation concepts and tools
  • Strong attention to detail and disciplined execution
  • Clear communication skills for documentation and technical reviews
  • Basic data analysis and measurement capabilities
  • Adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and standard operating procedures
  • Effective collaboration skills and openness to feedback
  • Commitment to continuous learning and standardized work practices to support operational excellence

Nice To Haves

  • Automation & Controls PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms)
  • Understanding of control logic, I/O systems, and machine sequencing
  • Industrial Hardware & Systems Experience with sensors, actuators, and servo systems
  • Knowledge of industrial safety systems
  • Engineering Tools CAD experience (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
  • Troubleshooting & Problem Solving Ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues in real production environments
  • Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies

Responsibilities

  • Execute assigned tasks in design, analysis, modification, and integration under close supervision
  • Apply standard methods, drawings, and procedures to develop solutions
  • Prepare documentation, test records, and configuration updates
  • Support preventive maintenance planning and interim corrective action
  • Collect data, perform basic measurements, and contribute to validation activities
  • Adhere to safety, quality, and compliance standards
  • Participate in continuous learning and skill development
  • Collaborate within team processes and follow established workflows to ensure consistency and reliability in automation engineering tasks
