About The Position

The Automation Engineer designs, develops, tests, implements, maintains, and modifies automation solutions of moderate complexity, significance, and risk. The role creates comprehensive test plans and cases, coordinates test data across systems, and performs performance testing to verify expected automation performance. The engineer investigates and resolves technical problems with clients and technical staff, documents automation capabilities and operating procedures, estimates project tasks, schedules, costs, and timelines, and assesses organizational needs and the feasibility of potential automation opportunities. The position focuses on scalable test automation for enterprise payment and software platforms, especially API automation using Java and tools such as Postman, Bruno, ReadyAPI, Groovy, and Citrus. The engineer converts manual cases, requirements, and API collections into automated regression and integration tests; works with engineering, product, and QA teams to resolve defects; analyzes logs and failures using tools such as Datadog; and integrates tests into CI/CD pipelines. The role also maintains test data, environments, and automation frameworks, contributes to code reviews and Agile workflows, and uses AI-assisted development and testing techniques—including GenAI, LLMs, and prompt engineering—to improve test coverage and engineering productivity. The role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three or more days per week.
