About The Position

The Automated Machine Operator operates, sets up, and changes over assigned machinery, including a rocker mill. The role supports safe, efficient production by maintaining equipment, meeting quality standards, accurately documenting production and equipment information, and communicating machine or process concerns to the supervisor. The operator may perform troubleshooting, minor machine and tooling repairs, preventative maintenance, product rework, and loading, unloading, or assembly operations. The position also involves assisting skilled trades and other operators, participating in corrective actions and continuous improvement, and training future employees in the role.

Requirements

Ability to safely and efficiently perform all assignments.
Ability to operate a forklift at level 4 or above.
Ability to perform machine operation, setup, and changeover.
Ability to make tooling adjustments and changes and re-teach or touch up robotic points.
Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor machine and tooling repairs and preventative maintenance.
Ability to butt weld and load new coils safely when applicable to the equipment line.
Ability to meet process-book and inspection-instruction quality standards.

Responsibilities

Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow company policies and procedures.
Perform machine operation, setup, and changeover functions.
Keep machines in good working order and communicate clearly with the supervisor, following shift and technical services.
Review the process book daily for quality or process changes and follow any changes or countermeasures.
When applicable to the equipment line, safely butt weld and load new coils.
Make tooling adjustments and changes as needed.
Re-teach or touch up robotic points.
Troubleshoot equipment; perform minor machine and tooling repairs and preventative maintenance.
Assist skilled trades with troubleshooting, machine repair, die repair, and preventative maintenance.
Assist other automated machine operators with troubleshooting and repairs.
Maintain accurate, real-time production and quality reports and complete equipment logs accurately.
Participate in corrective action or continuous improvement activities when needed.
Perform assignments safely and efficiently and ensure required quality standards are met.
Rework product as required.
Attend future training as deemed necessary for the position.
Operate a forklift at level 4 or above.
Perform loading, unloading, and assembly operations as required by the assigned machine.
Effectively train future individuals assigned to the position.
Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor or designee.
