About The Position

INX-West Chicago is hiring a Mill Operator to manufacture high-quality printing ink. This first-shift role runs from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The company will train the successful candidate in safe equipment operation and participation in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities. The Mill Operator works with production and support teams to operate milling equipment, handle production support and packaging equipment, maintain equipment to TPM standards, and contribute to team projects and process improvements.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED desired, or 1–3 months of related experience.
Good math and basic computer skills.
Attention to detail.
Reliability in working the assigned shift.
Flexibility to work overtime as required.
Exceptional attendance.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as required.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in the ink industry.
Background in the mill and pump filter industries.
Two or more years of related manufacturing experience.
Strong Autonomous Maintenance (AM) background.
Forklift experience.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate safe and effective operation of milling equipment.
Handle production support equipment, including press-out units, pump filter equipment, and forklifts.
Package and label products in various containers.
Clean and maintain equipment to TPM standards.
Participate in active projects and work with the team on TPM activities.
Work with R&D and Production Managers, applying quantitative and qualitative research skills to assess new-product outcomes and recommend process improvements.
Work alongside the scheduling team, Quality Coordinator, and Preventative Maintenance team.
Help ensure products and services contribute to sustainability and the company's greater good.
