About The Position

The Auto Technician I installs, maintains, tests, troubleshoots, repairs, and replaces batteries of all sizes. The role requires knowledge of battery products, equipment, policies, and procedures, and includes recommending products or services that meet customer needs, sometimes by driving to customer locations for field service. The technician performs light automotive mechanic work and preventative maintenance, safely recovers used batteries, and completes warehouse duties involving shipping, receiving, loading, inventory control, and battery maintenance. The role may also include occasional deliveries to support customer relationships. The technician documents work and inventory transactions, contributes process improvements, and provides a high-quality customer experience while supporting profitable sales.

Responsibilities

• Safely deliver a high-quality customer experience while supporting profitable sales of company products and services.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships, obtain referrals, and generate leads.
• Educate customers about products carried and monthly promotions, and identify opportunities to expand their use of company products and services.
• Assist retail customers and install batteries; perform light automotive preventative maintenance and mechanic work.
• Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot, repair, and replace batteries of all sizes.
• Recommend products or services that best fit customer needs and provide field service by driving to customer locations when needed.
• Safely recover used batteries.
• Load and offload vehicles, prepare shipments, label products, and keep the warehouse orderly, safe, and clean.
• Perform battery charging and reconditioning.
• Conduct inventory cycle counts and complete counts, and maintain accurate documentation of inventory transactions.
• Perform occasional deliveries to support customer relationships.
• Record successful processes and procedures and contribute process improvements.
