About The Position

National General is seeking a skilled Auto Supplement Estimate Writer to join their Claims team. This is a fully virtual desk role with no fieldwork required. The role supports 1st and 3rd party material damage claims by preparing accurate, comprehensive damage estimates. The ideal candidate will have experience writing supplements within the insurance industry, preferably in a carrier environment, and residency within the Eastern Standard Time zone is highly preferred. The candidate should be highly organized, effective at managing a claims diary, confident in negotiating with body shops, and motivated to take on new challenges while continuing to grow within the organization.

Requirements

Experience writing supplements within the insurance industry, preferably in a carrier environment

Motivated to take on new challenges while continuing to grow within the organization
Must terminate all existing insurance license appointments prior to onboarding and must not hold any outside appointments at any point during employment.
Applicants seeking an adjuster role who also hold a resident producer license must formally surrender that license when instructed to by the licensing team.

Responsibilities

Applies thorough understanding of regulatory compliance and fair claims practices
Builds established relationships with both internal and external customers
Exhibits proficient estimating fundamentals in order to create estimates of damages on 1st and 3rd party material damage losses
Processes a deep understanding of the content of all policy types written by the company
Negotiates settlements, makes settlement payments and documents all activities in the file within escalated authority limits
