About The Position

Kuna Joint School District No. 3 is seeking an Auto & Small Engine Mechanic based at the District Office. The role’s primary focus is diagnosing, servicing, and repairing automotive vehicles and outdoor power equipment, including lawnmowers, tractors, and trimmers. When mechanical work is caught up, the position also handles parts inventory and warehouse organization. The position is full-time, follows a 245-day calendar, reports to the Maintenance Supervisor, and pays $20.39–$27.18 per hour depending on experience.

Requirements

At least 3 years of professional experience in automotive repair, small-engine mechanics, or blended fleet maintenance.
Strong technical understanding of automotive systems and 2-stroke and 4-stroke small engines.
Ability to stay organized and manage inventory logs.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and safely navigate a warehouse environment.
Exceptional attention to detail, especially with part numbers and organization; strong problem-solving skills; and punctuality.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
A background check may be required.

Responsibilities

Diagnose, maintain, and repair standard automotive vehicles, including brakes, suspension, oil changes, light electrical systems, and general fluid services.
Inspect, tune up, and repair commercial and residential lawnmowers, small engines, and related landscaping equipment.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues across automotive and small-engine platforms.
Log, organize, and track incoming and outgoing mechanical parts, tools, and shop supplies.
Maintain a structured, clean, and safe warehouse and shop environment, keeping parts easy to locate and restock.
Help identify and order the correct automotive or small-engine replacement parts for upcoming repair jobs.
