This role is a mid-level Automotive Technician. This Technician may work independently or in a team environment. The technician will perform preventive maintenance, various repairs and maintenance based on certification levels, maintain/repair shop equipment, keep the shop area clean and tidy, perform work in accordance with safety standards, dispose of all fluids in a safe manner and in accordance with all regulations, create and maintain vehicle history and maintenance records, and may up fit new vehicles with the necessary equipment. Additional responsibilities for Level II & III include performing light to major repairs, advanced vehicle diagnostics, interfacing and coordinating with vendors for parts and repairs, providing roadside assistance as needed, using custom equipment for moderate design/fabrication tasks including welding, maintaining specialized trucks by troubleshooting and repairing complex hydraulic systems, generators and electrical systems, hybrids, and onboard computer systems. The role also involves direct interaction with customers, efficient diagnosis, repair, and replacement of general automotive parts and accessories, and conducting a wide variety of diagnoses and repairs including brakes, drivability, emissions, steering/suspension, electrical, state safety and emissions testing, maintenance services, HVAC, major engine and hydraulics.
