About The Position

The Auto Detail Shop Lead is a front-line supervisor responsible for managing and developing a team of hourly associates in a Carvana Inspection Center and helping the team consistently meet production targets. The role oversees the safe movement of cars through the center, production and quality goals, employee coaching and performance, and adherence to operating standards. The Lead works with the Inspection Center General Manager and production associates to review vehicle defects and determine whether inventory should be repaired or rejected based on repair estimates and vehicle quality. The position also trains associates to identify and complete repairs efficiently and to quality-control standards while minimizing rework, re-checks, and production delays. The Lead is expected to maintain a safe, communicative, and productive team environment. Carvana’s Reconditioning Centers inspect, repair, and photograph vehicles before they are listed online. The company uses its Carvana Certified 150-point inspection process to verify that vehicles meet its mechanical and cosmetic standards. This is a full-time position. The role may require overtime, weekend work, and variable schedules. Hiring is contingent on passing a complete background check, and the role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
