About The Position

The Auto Bodily Injury Claims Specialist investigates and settles automobile bodily injury claims. The role handles complex liability claims requiring additional investigation and verification, as well as casualty claims involving severe injuries that may result in extended disability or bodily injury and coverage-related litigation. The position works with third parties, plaintiff counsel, the Claim Director, and the Chief Operating Officer to investigate injuries and coverage and determine appropriate claim dispositions.

Requirements

3–5 years of auto bodily injury/casualty claims experience.
Knowledge of legal and medical terminology.
Excellent negotiation, communication, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to pass written examinations where required by state statutes to become a licensed claims adjuster.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

Non-standard auto claims experience.

Responsibilities

Review assigned files and determine an appropriate course of action using technical knowledge and experience to support final disposition of each loss.
Conduct thorough investigations and maintain accurate, relevant documentation of claim activity, including coverage, liability status, and applicable damages.
Process bodily injury and coverage claims in accordance with established office procedures.
Work with third parties, plaintiff counsel, the Claim Director, and the Chief Operating Officer to determine necessary injury and coverage investigations.
Research case and statutory law to conduct proper claim investigations.
Document policy status, coverage, liability, and damages on all claims, and notify the re-insurer on qualifying claims.
Prepare and present claim evaluations for the appropriate settlement authority.
Maintain reasonable expense factors.
Perform other duties as assigned.
