About The Position

The Department of Economic Security (DES) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Auditor 2 within the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD). DDD provides individuals with developmental disabilities, and their families, services and supports that are flexible, high quality, and member driven. These services provide individuals with opportunities to exercise their rights and responsibilities of independent decision-making and engagement in the community. Applicants for this position cannot be licensed or certified by the DDD Office of Licensing Certification and Regulation, cannot have a principal interest in or have a spouse or close family with principal interest in a DDD Qualified Vendor Agreement, and cannot be employed or subcontracted by a DDD Qualified Vendor.

Requirements

  • Auditing principles, standards and techniques.
  • Long-Term Care service delivery system.
  • Federal and state laws and agency rules, regulations, policies and procedures surrounding DDD practices.
  • Utilizing Microsoft Products including Word and Excel to manipulate and present data.
  • Assessing, reviewing, and/or analyzing situations and/or data, i.e. critical thinking.
  • Time management and organization.
  • Evaluate data and documents to determine compliance level.
  • Complete reports based on data and documents in an accurate, clear and professional manner, including recommendations for corrective action.
  • Work independently with general supervision.
  • Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver's license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver's license record checks.
  • Successfully pass background and reference check.
  • Successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Up to two years experience conducting compliance audits, writing comprehensive reports (e.g., individual plans and/or care plans, etc.), or assessing organizational systems (e.g., community residential, day or employment settings, etc.).
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews documentation and monitors Home and Community Based Services per AHCCCS requirements.
  • Conducts statewide on-site audits for the Adult Developmental and Child Developmental Programs. Reviews are conducted annually.
  • Writes monitoring/audit summary reports, verifies corrective actions plans submitted by vendor ensuring implementation of and ongoing system improvements.
  • Provides technical assistance as needed.
  • Creates and maintains tracking databases.
  • Establishes and maintains electronic agency files.
