About The Position

A TEKsystems client is seeking an experienced Lead AV Install Technician to oversee and perform the installation, integration, testing, and commissioning of commercial audiovisual systems. The role serves as the on-site technical lead, directing installation crews, ensuring adherence to project specifications and quality standards, and delivering customer experiences. The position is a contract role based fully onsite in Phoenix, Arizona. The technician leads installation work across commercial AV systems, including audio, video conferencing, digital signage, video distribution, control, projection, LED display, and network-connected AV systems. The role also involves low-voltage cabling, equipment mounting and rack assembly, system testing and troubleshooting, documentation, and job-site safety and compliance.

Requirements

Experience as an AV installation technician, with technical expertise in commercial audiovisual systems.
Ability to lead and guide installation technicians on job sites.
Ability to read prints.
Experience installing and terminating low-voltage cabling, including CAT6, fiber optic, speaker, control, and coaxial cabling.
Experience mounting AV equipment and building, wiring, and dressing equipment racks.
Ability to test, troubleshoot, and verify AV system performance.
Commitment to job-site safety and quality workmanship.

Nice To Haves

CTS, CTS-I, or related AVIXA certification.
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
Experience installing Crestron, Q-SYS, Extron, Biamp, and other AV platforms.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise AV installation technicians at job sites.
Coordinate daily installation activities to keep projects on schedule and within scope.
Review project drawings, engineering documentation, and scopes of work before installation.
Assign tasks, monitor progress, and provide technical guidance to team members.
Communicate project status, challenges, and solutions to project managers and stakeholders.
Install commercial audio, video conferencing, digital signage, video distribution, control, projection, LED display, and network-connected AV systems.
Install and terminate CAT6, fiber optic, speaker, control, and coaxial low-voltage cabling.
Mount displays, projectors, cameras, speakers, racks, and related equipment.
Build, wire, and dress equipment racks according to industry best practices.
Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and quality assurance checks.
Verify equipment functionality and system performance against design requirements.
Assist with system programming support and configuration as required.
Document installation completion, punch-list items, and quality-control inspections.
Support client demonstrations and user acceptance testing.
Promote and enforce job-site safety policies and procedures.
Work in accordance with OSHA regulations and applicable building codes.
Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and company vehicles.
Maintain clean, organized, and professional work environments.
Maintain accurate installation records, project documentation, and daily reports.
Redline drawings and report field changes to project management.
Assist with inventory management and material tracking.
Submit project documentation in a timely manner.
