About The Position

This position involves setting up, operating, and troubleshooting all AV/projection/lighting/conferencing equipment, devices, and systems. The specialist ensures AV equipment is fully operational, performing repairs or cleaning as necessary. Responsibilities include managing wires and cables, labeling broken equipment, and communicating issues to management. The role also requires checking delivered equipment and room setups against Banquet Event Orders, communicating any changes to flowsheet, and operating and maintaining the house audio system. Additionally, the specialist will assist and instruct guests on equipment usage, up-sell AV services, and monitor equipment. The role also includes breaking down, removing, and securing equipment, and adhering to the Marriott Visual Productions (MVP program) SOP book. The position also requires following all company safety and security policies, reporting accidents and unsafe conditions, and completing safety training. Adherence to company policies, maintaining a professional appearance, protecting company assets, and providing excellent guest service are also key aspects of the role. Physical requirements include lifting objects up to 50 pounds, reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, stooping, visually inspecting equipment, and manipulating objects of varying size and weight. Other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors may also be assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of related work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Set-up, operate, and troubleshoot all AV/projection/lighting/conferencing equipment, devices, and systems.
  • Ensure AV equipment is fully operational, repair or clean equipment when necessary.
  • Tape down and dress all loose wire and cable.
  • Label any broken equipment and communicate problems to manager/supervisor.
  • Check delivered equipment and room set-up against Banquet Event Order.
  • Communicate any additions or deletions to flowsheets to manager/supervisor.
  • Operate and maintain house audio system.
  • Assist and instruct guests/customers regarding proper usage and operation of AV equipment.
  • Up-sell different AV services.
  • Monitor equipment operation at appropriate intervals.
  • Break-down, remove, and secure equipment.
  • Read, understand, and adhere to Marriott Visual Productions (MVP program) SOP book.
  • Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; and complete safety training and certifications.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests’ service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation.
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language, and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
  • Support team to reach common goals.
  • Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
