About The Position

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking an Audio-Visual Operator to set up, operate, and troubleshoot audio-visual equipment for events and daily activities. The role provides high-quality sound and visual experiences for guests and event participants, working closely with event coordinators, technical teams, and clients to understand requirements and tailor AV solutions. Attention to detail and quick problem-solving help maintain smooth events and resolve technical issues promptly, contributing to the overall guest experience.

The position assists the Banquet Team in operating in a for-profit environment and helps ensure guest service exceeds expectations so the Resort can meet or exceed budget expectations. The operator also assists with training staff in basic AV equipment use and safety protocols.

Requirements

• Experience operating audio-visual equipment in a live event or hospitality environment.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by event schedules.
• Understanding of sound systems, video projection, and lighting equipment.

• Previous experience working in a resort, conference center, or large event venue.

Responsibilities

• Set up, test, and operate microphones, speakers, projectors, video screens, lighting systems, and other audio-visual equipment for events and daily activities.
• Monitor and adjust sound and visual quality throughout events to ensure optimal performance and guest satisfaction.
• Collaborate with event planners and technical staff to understand event requirements and customize AV setups.
• Maintain and inventory AV equipment, ensure devices are in good working condition, and report maintenance needs.
• Assist in training staff on basic AV equipment usage and safety protocols.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly to minimize disruptions during live events.
• Assist the Banquet Team in delivering guest service beyond expectations and meeting or exceeding budget expectations.
