About The Position

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced AV Project Manager to lead the delivery of all audiovisual construction and technology integration activities for a large arena project. The AV Project Manager will oversee the AV Superintendent and field teams while maintaining overall responsibility for AV scope, budget, schedule, quality, risk management, and client satisfaction. Working closely with the Project Director, ownership, contractors, technology vendors, and consultants, this role will develop execution strategies, manage project performance, coordinate stakeholder activities, and ensure the successful delivery of complex AV systems, including broadcast systems, LED displays, arena bowl sound, control rooms, IPTV, and networked AV platforms. This position requires a combination of strong project leadership and technical AV expertise. The AV Project Manager serves as the primary point of accountability for AV project execution, overseeing planning, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, and turnover activities, ensuring alignment with project goals, design requirements, and operational needs. The AV Project Manager reports directly to the Project Director and provides day-to-day leadership to the AV Superintendent and supporting project teams. This is a full-time, FLSA-exempt position requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week, with flexibility to support critical installation, testing, and commissioning activities when required. Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in project management, construction management, AV integration, low-voltage systems, or a related technical construction field.
  • Experience leading large-scale AV or technology integration projects in commercial, entertainment, stadium, arena, or similarly complex environments.
  • Experience managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and project teams.
  • Strong understanding of AV systems, construction processes, and project delivery methodologies.
  • Familiarity with IBC, NEC, NFPA, and applicable low-voltage codes and standards.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, Microsoft Office, and related project management tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Telecommunications, Electrical Technology, or related field preferred.
  • AVIXA CTS, CTS-I, CTS-D, PMP, or manufacturer certifications are preferred.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Experience on projects exceeding $25M overall value or $5M AV scope preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all AV project activities from planning through final turnover.
  • Manage project scope, budget, schedule, quality, and client expectations.
  • Provide leadership and oversight to the AV Superintendent, subcontractors, vendors, and project teams.
  • Develop and maintain AV execution plans integrated with the overall construction schedule.
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain project objectives.
  • Lead project meetings and communicate progress, risks, and decisions to stakeholders.
  • Oversee installation and integration of: Arena sound systems, Video displays and LED walls, Broadcast and production systems, Control rooms and equipment racks, Fiber and copper infrastructure, IPTV, digital signage, and AV-over-IP systems.
  • Review AV drawings, signal flow diagrams, rack elevations, and integration plans.
  • Coordinate with design teams, IT groups, contractors, consultants, and equipment manufacturers.
  • Support testing, commissioning, owner training, and final system turnover.
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, cost reporting, and change orders.
  • Monitor procurement activities and long-lead equipment deliveries.
  • Track schedule milestones and implement recovery plans when needed.
  • Support contract administration and commercial decision-making.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all project safety requirements.
  • Conduct quality reviews and support the resolution of field issues.
  • Maintain project reporting, documentation, logs, and executive-level updates.
  • Utilize Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, and similar project management platforms.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Mentor project staff and field personnel.
  • Support overall project success through collaboration, communication, and leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Director.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
